Noteworthy Characteristics

Allium  tuberosum ‘Oriental Garlic’, commonly known as Chinese chives, Asian chives or Chinese leeks. Edible herb, can be used like green onions with more of a garlic taste. Important ingredient in many Asian recipes.

Each plant will form an umbel of many white flowers that blooms in late summer and early autumn.

Flat, green leaves about 1/4″ wide and 10″-16″ long with an umbel scape reaching 24″.  Self-seeds. Blends well with woodland plants. Adds color to the shade garden.

Problems

No serious pest or disease problems. Deer resistant.
